Nathalie Emmanuel

Nathalie Emmanuel is a British actress best known as Missandei in HBO's dramatic Fantasy "Game of Thrones". (HBO 2011-19). Emmanuel grew up in Southend-on-the-Sea the name of a resort located in Essex and found herself drawn to performing arts since when she was a child. Her mother quickly took notice as she grew older, and by the time Nathalie was just three years old, her parents signed her up for the singing, dancing and acting classes. Emmanuel was a talented performer, and she developed quickly. As of the middle of the 90s she played an infant Nala in "The Lion King," an iconic West End musical which has received acclaim. Emmanuel had auditioned for roles in TV and film when she was in her teens. Her first major breakthrough in 2007, when she was cast as Sasha Valentine on the British soap-opera "Hollyoaks" (Channel 4, 1995- ). Emmanuel played the part for four years, eventually going off the show in. The next major breakthrough for Emmanuel came three years later when she was cast in the role of Missandei who was the translator for Daenerys Targaryen (portrayed by Emilia Clarke), on HBO's "Game of Thrones."
